Character name: Aximili-Esgarrouth-Isthill (his human friends call him Ax)
Series: Animorphs (the books. let's just pretend that tv series never existed)
Canon point: Post book 38.
Summary: Wiki link just because
So, Animorphs. The basic plot of the series is that there are these slug-like aliens (Yeerks) who can slip into people's heads through their ear canals and take over their brains. Normal people don't know about the Yeerks because the Yeerk has access to all its host's memories and thoughts, and acts just like its host. The Yeerks like to take over any planet they come in contact with, and Earth is one of their current main targets.
Andalites are a race of centaur-like aliens who are incredibly scientifically advanced and developed a technology that lets anyone morph into anything with DNA. The Andalites are the main species opposed to the Yeerks, and are dedicated to wiping out the Yeerks. Aximili-Esgarrouth-Isthill is one of these Andalites. His brother, Elfangor-Sirinial-Shamtul, broke the primary law of the Andalite species and gave morphing technology to a ragtag bunch of human children. These human children, the Animorphs, are now the only thing standing between humanity and the Yeerk invasion. Ax has joined the Animorphs in their fight, and his knowledge of the Yeerks and their weaknesses has been hugely helpful, while his tenancy to get really excited about human culture has ranged from embarrassing to near-disastrous.
Ax is fairly young, about the same age as the other Animorphs (who start out the beginning of the series in middle school), and is prone to some of the same weaknesses as any human his age. He can be impulsive, insecure, and arrogant. His alienness makes for some interesting culture clashes, especially in human morph, where he has a tenancy to get completely overwhelmed by how everything tastes, and in his... interesting tastes in television (soap operas and "These Messages").
Andalites as a species have some rather notable personality quirks. As a rule, they're incredibly arrogant, proud of their species and its accomplishments, and opposed to the idea that any Andalite could ever do anything wrong. They also tend to look down on other species, though through his experiences on Earth, Ax has come to appreciate humans, though he still views them as an underdeveloped culture. Andalites evolved from herd animals, and so they have an instinctive aversion to anyone who is disfigured/deformed/permanently injured/less than "perfect", as a defective individual could cause problems for the herd as a whole. This instinctive aversion is something that not even millennia of evolution has been able to stamp out, and they don't see it as problematic. Another thing that nothing has quite been able to erase is their natural optimism, though a good portion of a young Andalite's training is focused on curbing their natural enthusiasm. This optimism is actually the reason that most other species view them as arrogant. Again, because of the herd mentality, Andalites will select an individual as their "prince" and follow his order. Ax's prince is Jake, the leader of the Animorphs, though Jake constantly tells Ax not to call him "Prince Jake".
Overall, Ax is an arrogant, curious, loyal, skilled with tactics, somewhat xenophobic, and incredibly intelligent teenage boy. Who just happens to be a blue alien with four eyes and no mouth.
Powers:
- Morphing: Ax can transform into anything, so long as he touches it and acquires its DNA. This morph lasts for (at absolute most) two "human hours". It will be limited to 3 uses per day.
- Thoughtspeak: Andalites don't have mouths, so they evolved the ability to communicate telepathically. He can't read minds, or pick up telepathic communication not directed at him. This power will not be limited.
- Internal time clock: Andalites have an instinctive awareness of the passage of time, usually used to keep track of time spent in morph.
- Super smart: idk where else to put this. His species has computers/science/math knowledge that's centuries ahead of 21st century Earth, and the most advanced human computers and programs are like simple children's games to him.
- Tail: again, not exactly a power, but the blade on his tail is his main weapon in a fight, and he's well-trained in using it.
Entry: Is there a possibility for new arrivals getting found by people during this next event? If so, that would probably be the way I'd want to go. If not, then I'll figure something else out.
Other: Due to weird eating habits (he absorbs nutrients from the ground/plants/water directly through his hooves) he's going to need to find or make or something a largeish grassy area for a pasture. Or just trample all the crops.
He also really really likes cinnamon buns. They're like, almost his favorite thing about Earth.
